Ricardo RodriguezA Jefferson man is sentenced to probation from a felony charge in February.

According to court documents, 29 year-old Ricardo Emmanuell Rodriguez pled guilty to a Class D Felony for his third offense of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated.  He had his five year prison sentence suspended and was instead placed on probation for three years.

The charge stems from an incident on February 2nd when Rodriguez took his girlfriend’s 2008 Toyota Corolla while it was parked in the 100 block of State Street at a bank.  Rodriguez was heading west and hit a parked 1995 Ford F-250 pickup that’s owned by Raccoon Valley Lawn & Handyman Services.  During the investigation, it was discovered that Rodriguez’s blood alcohol concentration was more than the legal limit.

He was ordered to pay over $4,000 in fines, surcharges, court costs and attorney fees.  He must complete a substance abuse evaluation and his driver’s license is revoked for six years.  The other charge for a misdemeanor for child endangerment was dismissed.
