The Perry Bluejays ended their season with a 5-1 loss to Boone at Boone Memorial Park on Monday night. The Bluejays struggled all night to produce scoring opportunities, plating just one run on four total hits. On the other hand, Boone produced five runs on 6 hits and put 12 runners on base. The Bluejay pitching staff failed to record a strikeout, while the Toreadors struck out two Perry batters.

Sophomore Adan Medina led the Bluejay attack, reaching base safely in all three plate appearances. Perry knotted the score in the top of the 3rd inning on an RBI single by Will Whiton. That would be the only run plated by the Bluejays, however, as Boone regained the lead in the bottom half of the inning and added two more runs in the 5th and one in the 6th.

Kyle Nevitt (3-4) got the start for the road team, surrendering three runs on two hits in three innings. Senior Will Whiton pitched three innings of relief, giving up two runs on four hits. Storm Wagner received the win for Boone, allowing one run on four hits in six innings of work. Perry loses three seniors to graduation: Nic Wilhelmi, Will Whiton, and Zach Roberts, and finishes the season at 15-16 overall. Boone moves to 22-10 and will face Humboldt in Boone on Wednesday in the Substate two final.
