Cleanup of the Brownfields site in Perry is now complete, after the City Council approved the final pay request at their meeting Monday.
City Administrator Sven Peterson says the project went both smoothly and quickly with J Pettiecord and now the City is looking forward to moving on.
“On one side we do have a lease option with a gentleman that’s wanting to develop a solar field. If that goes through, that’ll be the biggest solar project in the state. So if we can get that done, that will be a big deal. As for the other side, it’s kind of up in the air. One of the things that we’ve been kicking around as an idea is an off-road dirt bicycle track, they call it a single track course. That could be a cool thing for Perry, it’s something we don’t have.”
Peterson says he feels the bike track would really compliment what’s the Whiterock Conservancy has to offer in Coon Rapids, though no formal action has been taken to make that happen.
