As the summer begins to wind down, so is the Perry Public Library’s summer reading program.
Children’s librarian Suzanne Kestel says she has really enjoyed the Every Hero Has a Story theme.
“The kids have been super, because that has been our theme, superheroes and it has just been such a fun theme. I have really enjoyed it and I think the children have too. It has just been a good summer.”
With just over a week left in this year’s program, Kestel says they’re getting ready for the big finale on July 28th when they have a Super Splash Party at the McCreary Community Building.
“If you have read five hours or more, then you are welcome to come to the (recreation) center and it’s free for the children and their families. It’s just kind of a nice wrap up for the year.”
But even when the summer program is over, Kestel says the fun doesn’t stop at the library as she’s already finalizing plans for different programs and activities this fall.
