The ADM football team has quite a bit to replace on the offensive side of the ball due to the graduation of several seniors, including three-fifths of the offensive line and all three starting receivers.

But as veteran Tigers head coach Mike Whisner pointed out Thursday at 7-on-7 camps, ADM has been running the spread offense for quite some time. That in turn means players working their way through the ranks of the program are confident  once they reach the varsity level.

“Well, that’s always a concern in coaching is how you’re bringing in more skill players when we’ve graduated several,” Whisner said. “But we have our quarterback coming back, [Blake] Crannell’s healthy as a tailaback, we’ve got some linemen back. We have some receivers roles to fill, but what we do, we’ve done for basically 10 years – throwing and catching the ball – so the kids have been working on that all summer. They kind of know where they need to go with that if they want to play.”

ADM heads to Central College in Pella Sunday through Tuesday for a fully-padded camp with scrimmages against other high school summer rosters.
