A recently graduated Panorama High School football star is getting ready for one last hurrah at the prep level. Gavin Richey is set to compete in this afternoon’s Shrine Bowl. The annual football all star game features athletes about to join a college football team. Richey was a star linebacker and quarterback at Panorama and will soon be joining the football team at Morningside College in Sioux City. In his senior season at Panorama, the 6’4″, 190 pound Richey led the Panthers to a state tournament birth, throwing 15 touchdowns next to 10 interceptions at quarterback, and on the other side of the ball, leading his team with 90 tackles and 5 sacks. The Shrine Bowl takes place this afternoon at 4 p.m. at the UNI Dome in Cedar Falls.
