Dallas County Emergency Management Launches New Alert System
The Dallas County Emergency Management office has teamed up with Alert Iowa to launch a new Emergency Notification System.
The voluntary program collects contact information from local residents and in the event of an emergency or severe weather, an alert will be sent to the email or phone number provided.
Citizens can choose what they want to be notified about, from civil danger warnings to excessive heat warnings, red flag warnings to information on ice storms. Participants can also select which specific communities they want to be receive alerts for.
There’s no cost to enroll in the system. You can find the sign up form HERE. And don’t forget, you can also get all your weather and community related information right here on the Raccoon Valley Radio network, on-air or online at RaccoonValleyRadio.com.
