Everyone is invited to the next full moon bike ride on the Raccoon River Valley Trail tonight.
The Cyclists of Greene (COG) will start at the Jefferson Depot at 7:30pm and ride down to Cooper under the twilight. Then, after a short break, the group will travel the eight miles back to the Depot for refreshments.
COG recently partnered with the Jefferson Parks and Recreation Department, which Jefferson Mayor and COG President Craig Berry says is beneficial for both parties.
“We’re basically somewhat similar to like the (Jefferson) swim team is under the (parks and) recreation department, where we’ve got our own board and we’ve got our own account there, but we do under the auspices of the (parks and) rec department.”
To participate in the free bike ride, you must have a helmet and a working bike light. The next full moon bike ride is scheduled for August 29th.
