The public is invited to a Sweet Corn Festival fundraiser this weekend in Jefferson.
First United Methodist Church will be serving sweet corn, pulled pork sandwiches, coleslaw, plus a variety of cobblers with ice cream and beverages on Sunday from 5 to 6:30pm.
The event will take place at Russell Park and the church’s parking lot. Take out orders will be made available. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for those 5 to 12 years-old and anyone under five can eat for free. Tickets can be purchased ahead of time from the church or any church member. If there’s inclement weather, the event will be moved inside the church.
The Webb House will also be open for youth to enjoy foosball, ping-pong, basketball, pinball machines and lots of other games for free. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go toward the Webb House, People for Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), Habitat for Humanity and the local church.
