Greene County began its annual football camp for high school players last night. Youngsters going into grades three through six, as well as middle school players, join their high school counterparts later today through Wednesday .
Dean Lansman is the head football coach and activities director. He told Raccoon Valley Radio the focus is a little different for the younger players. “You want to bring in the younger kids and introduce them to the sport of football. Some have played football before and some have not. We want to have fun with that group of kids, get them to like the sport and understand it a little bit more.” All camp activities are done in t-shirts and shorts.
Official practice on the high school level begins on Monday, August 10.
