A Glidden man is facing charges from a single vehicle accident late Sunday night in Greene County.
Sheriff Steve Haupert says at 11:23pm, a deputy, Greene County Emergency Medical Services and the Jefferson Fire Department responded to the crash at 195th Street and Orchard Avenue, about four miles west of Spring Lake Park.
23 year-old Albert John Wolfe of Glidden was heading west on 195th Street when he drove through the T intersection at Orchard Avenue. Haupert states that Wolfe’s 2004 Chevrolet Silverado went through a sign and struck a tree on an abandoned farm site. The responding deputy was already in route from a previous call about a possible intoxicated driver leaving Spring Lake.
Wolfe wasn’t wearing his seatbelt at the time of the accident. He suffered non-life threatening injuries and was transported by Greene County EMS to Greene County Medical Center for treatment. The Chevy Silverado was a total loss.
Wolfe is charged with his second offense for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, driving while suspended, failure to maintain control and no insurance.
