History buffs will soon have access to nearly 150 years of Stuart newspapers at the City’s public library. Head Librarian Sandy Pollard says they are working on digitizing the periodicals for ease of access. “When we get those all digitized, we will add them to our library web page so that people from all over can look and see what their relatives did in 1926 and will know what people died from. We have several requests a week for that kind of information but we don’t have it available at this time.”
Pollard says the original copies of the newspapers are housed in the archives at the State Library of Iowa in Des Moines.
