Former ADM football star Gavin Glenn is a redshirt junior entering his second season with the Coe College Kohawks in Cedar Rapids.
The three-time all-state high school quarterback told Raccoon Valley Radio he expects more playing time this season after appearing in eight games off the bench last season.
As for what to expect from Coe as a team this season?
“We were .500 last year and we have to be better than that,” said Glenn of the 2014 Kohawks, who went 5-5. “We play some tough teams to start with, but we’ll be more competitive, I think, on the field.”
Glenn of course has a pulse on the state of the offense as the returnign backup quarterback, and offered up his scouting report of what Coe’s offensive depth chart looks like this season compared to last.
“We’ve got our running backs back. We lost nine wide receivers, which, that’s a good chunk for a spread offense or any type of system,” Glenn said. “We’re going to have a lot better line this year. Lots of new faces at wide receiver, but I practiced with all those guys last year, so it’s not that big of a change.”
Coe averaged 28.6 points per game and 411 yards of total offense last season, both of which ranked in the top half of the eight-team Iowa Conference. The Kowaks open the 2015 season Sept. 5 against Wheaton College.
