As we’ve previously reported, Chris Ocak is a new assistant coach for the ADM varsity football Tigers, and we reached out to Ocak for more details on his background.

Ocak was born and raised in the Denver, Colorado metro area, and was a tackle and defensive end for Chatfield Senior High School in Littleton, Colorado. He then focused on a sport similar to football, rugby.

Ocak played collegiate rugby in the state of Colardo and later for a club team. Now in Iowa, this is his first time coaching football at any level, and he’ll coach varsity linemen and assist head coach Mike Whisner with any other duties as requested.

As far as his educational background, Ocak student taught in the spring and received his state of Iowa teaching license shortly thereafter. He’ll teach history, phsycology and the Advanced Placement versions of both at ADM high school.
