Despite losing numerous seniors and having a new coaching staff, John Jones, the new Guthrie Center head volleyball coach is optimistic about this year’s squad. From watching teams at last week’s conference scrimmage and seeing his own team practicing for a few weeks, he believes the Tigerettes could be one of the better teams in the conference. “If we reach our potential and we’re on every night, I think we could finish in the upper half, maybe higher. The two teams I think are really good are Des Moines Christian and Woodward-Granger and we get both of those teams at home.”

The Guthrie Center volleyball team has their first competition next Tuesday night when they travel to Audubon.
