Today is Labor Day and many offices and businesses will be closed in Jefferson.

The Jefferson City Hall, Jefferson Public Library, Jefferson Post Office, Greene County Courthouse, Greene County Chamber, Greene County Extension and Greene County Community Center are all closed today in observance of the holiday.

Library staff reminds everyone that nothing is due to the library when it is closed for a holiday.

City staff reminds residents that garbage routes will be delayed one day due to the holiday.  Today’s routes will be done tomorrow and each day will be pushed back by a day, with routes to return to normal schedules next week.  Residents are also reminded to have their garbage at the curbside by 6am to ensure pick up.
