Relay for Life of Greene County is already working on gearing up for 2016.

Organizer Peg Raney says they ended their 2015 campaign with a final total of $51,258 raised for the American Cancer Society.  She invites everyone to join the central committee meeting tomorrow night to start planning for 2016.

One area of focus for Raney is increasing the number of participating teams.  She points out that they average about 16 teams, but she would like to see more join in the effort to raise money to fight cancer.  Tomorrow’s meeting will be at the Jefferson Matters: Main Street office on Lincoln Way at 5pm.  Raney adds that these planning meetings will be held the third Thursday of every month.

The main event is scheduled for Saturday, April 23, 2016 at the Greene County Community Center in Jefferson.
