The Perry Police Department and Employee and Family Resources are teaming up to offer an opportunity for local residents to safety get rid of their drugs, no questions asked next week.
As part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, all local citizens are encouraged to go through their medicine cabinets and get rid of any unused, unwanted or expired prescriptions, over the counter medications, pet medications, vitamins, supplements, ointments and creams.
Bob Wilson with the Perry Chamber encourages community members to take advantage of the free service.
“I love the opportunity to get rid of these things in a safe way. It’s just another example of the way the City of Perry works with its residents. We’re happy to promote it.”
Items can be dropped off at the Perry public safety building parking lot Saturday, September 26th between 10am and 2pm.
The substances will then be picked up by the Drug Enforcement Administration and incinerated.
If you have questions, call the Perry Police Department at 465-4636.
