The ADM volleyball team continues to enjoy a well-deserved breather as the team is off from competition the entire week.
The break has had multiple benefits, not the least of which was resting a number of players who have caught a bug that’s spread around the team.
That “bug” has of course changed some of head coach Mary Beth Scott’s plans for this past week.
“I’m trying to take that into consideration because I really wanted to have some conditioning and cardio things because we had such a break,” Scott said. “When we play three matches in a week, two weeknights and a tournament, there’s not much time for some conditioning drills and things like that because I don’t want to wear them out.
“I was trying to do that this week, but we do have some illness going around and it is homecoming week, and we’re kind of trying to pick a theme each night … and so were trying to review everything so that we’re ready for next week.”
Those themes included a conditioning/weight-lifting day with hitting drills, fundamentals, blocking and other facets of the game.
ADM (9-10) returns to the court for conference play at 7 p.m. Tuesday night in Adel against Ballard.
