The Perry football team will look for a fresh start tonight when they travel to Boone for the District opener against the Torreadors.  Perry enters 0-3 after non district losses to ADM, North Polk and Gilbert.  The Perry defense appears to be the strength of the team and will need to buckle down tonight against a high powered Boone attack.

“They have a lot of skill on the offensive side of the football,” added Head Coach Jason Olejniczak.  “They have really tall, basketball type receivers who do a good job of catching the ball and using their bodies.  They have a very athletic quarterback and they have proven to be a pretty good running team when they want to.  It will be a difficult match up for our defense and we certainly will have to be ready to slow down their big play capability.”

Boone leads the 3A field in passing yards and will try to bounce back from a 54-27 loss to Humboldt.  The Torreadors have not had any difficulties scoring points but they are giving up a bunch.  Perry defeated Boone last season 21-14 at Dewey Field.
