dc conservationThe Dallas County Conservation board invites everyone to come celebrate the lunar eclipse this weekend.

Museum Curator Pete Malmberg says the special program will take place at the Kuehn Conservation Area Sunday from 8-11:30pm.

“For the fourth time in two years, the full moon will slip into Earth’s shadow for a lunar eclipse, with the moon in total eclipse for over an hour. So this is really impressive.  Unlike the previous three, seeing this eclipse will not require an early rising, as the moon will start its slow disappearance slowly after 8pm.  By 9:45, the entire moon will be covered, and it will stay that way until close to 11:00pm.”

Participants of all ages are asked to register in advance by calling 465-3577.  Also, they recommend bringing comfortable chairs or blankets along with snacks and beverages to enjoy by the bonfire.
