Dozens of people gathered at the Perry Fareway Store for a ribbon cutting Thursday morning.
The event commemorated the store’s grand re-opening and the completion of their recent improvements.
The Perry location was one of the first stores the 78 year-old company built after World War II when it was erected in 1946. After being in the same location for decades they considered moving but decided to stay near downtown Perry and instead did a complete overhaul on the building’s interior. Everything from tiles to ceilings, restrooms to aisle layouts have been re-done.
The ribbon cutting event was also the official welcome to new store manager Travis Landgrebe.
