The color pink nearly brought Perry some volleyball luck Tuesday night in a thrilling Raccoon River Conference showdown with Winterset.  The Huskies defeated the Jayettes in 5 sets winning 25-18, 24-26, 21-25, 25-20 and 15-13.  The night was designated as “Spike Out Cancer Night.”  Winterset nearly had their conference championship hopes eliminated by a gutty Perry performance.  The Jayettes entered the night winless in conference play but took the Huskies to the wire.  Ellie Nielsen led the way 17 kills while Johanna Diw added 12 and Adrian Thompson and Claire Marburger each chipped in 5 kills.  Marburger led the defense with 11 digs.  Vancil and Marburger were both perfect at the service line.  Perry host the Jayette Invitational Thursday night.
