Greene County Early Learning CenterThe Greene County Early Learning Center is hosting an open house to commemorate their ten-year anniversary.

Director Cherie Cerveny says their program has grown over the past ten years when they started with just 20 kids to now educating 108 two-week to 12 year-olds.  She describes the types of programs that the younger kids participate in.

“The children will experience large motor (and) fine motor (skills), (as well as) indoor (and) outdoor (skills).  We try to keep them very busy as well as work on some of the foundational things like counting and colors and learning to walk if you’re in the infant room and those kinds of things.”

During the open house, there will be kid activities, displays, tours and a visit from an Iowa Public Television representative.  The event will be from 6 to 8pm tomorrow night at 204 West Madison in Jefferson.  It is free and open to the public.
