The Bock Family Foundation awarded their fall grants to 27 different organizations and causes Wednesday.
A total of $58,242.84 was given out to projects in Dallas County that operate for religious, charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes.
The Bock Family Foundation grants are awarded biannually, with the next deadline on March 1st.
Fall 2015 Grant Recipients
First United Methodist Church, Perry – $5,000.00 to complete phase 2 Sanctuary lighting and carpeting for fellowship hall and $1,300.00 to remodel church nursery
HomeCare Services of Dallas County – $2,000.00 towards purchase of freezers and hot water heater for senior nutrition program
Carnegie Library Museum – 1,000.00 to assist with funding for 4th Annual Kids’ Fest
Perry Volunteer Fire Department – $2,500.00 towards purchase of 2 Positive Pressure Fans
Dallas County Conservation Board – $5,000.00 for “Let’s Connect” (Perry to Woodward trail project)
Perry Booster Club – $400.00 towards purchase of grill
P.A.C.E.S. – $7,500.00 for PreK-5th grade Learning Center Program 2015-16
Dallas County Hospital Foundation – $1,500.00 for Patient Medication Bag Program
Perry Public Library – $1,035.00 for community education of history and contributions of Latino Americans
Perry Elementary Parents – $1,500.00 towards replacement of swing set seats and chains at Elementary playground and to install fun tunnel
Perry Instrumental Music Department – $1,500.00 towards purchase of percussion instruments and equipment
Perry High School Color Guard – $1,000.00 to purchase new equipment
Perry High School Vocal Music – $1,000.00 to purchase new formal wear for Select Choir and install shelving
Perry Elementary School – $2,994.00 to purchase milk tickets for K-2nd grade student
Perry School Student Activities Dpt. – $500.00 to aid in restoration of 3 Dewey field ticket booths and $500.00 to assist with “Swings with Kids Youth Golf” Program
New Opportunities, Inc. – $1,885.00 to purchase Low Income Home Energy Assistances Program mobile unit
Perry Child Development Center – $4,500.00 for scholarships for 5 low income preschool children
Pegasus Inc. – $778.84 to purchase editing computer and monitor
Art on the Prairie – $1,750.00 for adding panel to each side of collaborative public art mural
St. Patrick Catholic School – $1,000.00 towards construction of basketball court in playground
Perry Lutheran Home – $1,000.00 towards purchase of a Hoyer Lift
Woodward Public Library – $1,000.00 towards purchase of a periodical display unit
Perry Ministerial Association – $4,000.00 for the Good Samaritan Fund
Minburn Community Betterment Group – $1,500.00 to aid in the restoration of the Minburn Depot
Perry Fine Arts – $1,100.00 for performance by Des Moines Metro Opera
Noah’s Ark Preschool – $1,000.00 towards purchase hand dryer, soap dispenser, chairs and tables
Miracle Travel Works Inc. – $2,500.00 for travel expenses for families with sick children
