Fall Medicare open enrollment has begun and the Stuart Public Library is offering free counseling for seniors. Library Board President Larry Davis says there are many benefits to the free Senior Health Insurance Information Program (SHIIP). “SHIIP offers free, confidential and objective counseling to anyone on Medicare. Guthrie County Hospital is my sponsor and we’ll be conducting two days of open enrollment counseling at the Stuart Public Library. Every year, Medicare offers an open enrollment period from October 15th-December 7th for both Medicare Advantage and Part D prescription drug plans. Every year during this period, Medicare beneficiaries are encouraged to review their plans to make sure they are the most cost effective.”

Free counseling sessions will take place tomorrow and October 29th at the library from 1-7 p.m. To make an appointment call the library at 515-523-2152 and remember to bring your Medicare card and prescription information.
