The ADM volleyball team will get its final tuneup for the postseason at 7 p.m. Thursday in Adel when the team plays host to conference-rival Carroll in the regular season finale.

ADM (19-16, 4-2 RRC) last played Saturday in Knoxville, when the Tigers went 5-1 to capture the Knoxville tournament title. Thursday’s matchup with No. 10 Carroll (25-9, 6-0 RRC) will wrap up a stretch of two weeks of tough competition for ADM, so head coach Mary Beth Scott said it’s only fitting and good timing that her squad finishes the regular season with Carroll.

“Yeah, yeah, I mean they’re in first place in the conference and like I like to tell the girls, you just never know what’s going to happen; you know you’ve got to go out there and play,” Scott said. “After watching a few of the college football games [last weekend], you get the sense that a lot of things can happen and change the game instantly.

“So you’ve just got to go out and play hard, and I think doing well at Knoxville has set the girls up to really be motivated and believe that they can get beat Carroll. If we play well and play consistently, there’s certainly that option.”

ADM received a first-round playoff bye in Class 4A, Region 3, and will play the winner of Lewis Central and Glenwood on Thursday, Oct. 29 at Lewis Central in Council Bluffs.
