A deputy was asked by the Dallas County Sheriff’s Office to try and locate a Dallas County resident that might be at a residence in the 1100 block of Orchard Avenue. The male was not located at that time.
A deputy, while on routine patrol, initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at the intersection of Highway 30 and Highway 4. After a field interview and investigation, the deputy subsequently arrested Kevin Eugene Miller 49, of Boone, Iowa, for Possession of a Controlled Substance, Marijuana – 2nd Offense (Serious Misdemeanor) and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (Simple Misdemeanor).
A deputy was dispatched to the 800 block of N Avenue to remove a deer carcass from along the roadway.
The Chief Deputy sheriff was dispatched to the 1600 block of M Avenue for a minor two vehicle accident. Christine Rae Exline 40, of Jefferson, was driving on M Avenue when she crested a hill and struck the back of a parked pickup truck owned by Adam Smith of Jefferson. No injuries were reported and damage to each vehicle estimated to be $1000.
The Chief Deputy Sheriff was unable to locate a reported unknown male sitting on the Highway 30 bridge near Pioneer Avenue.
A deputy was dispatched to assist a Carroll County Deputy with an assault case in Ralston.
Thursday, October 22nd
A deputy was dispatched to a car-deer accident on Highway 30 near Orchard Avenue. A 2003 GMC Envoy being driven by Deannda Diane Lopez 50, of Jefferson was eastbound on Highway 30 when a deer ran onto the roadway and was struck by the Lopez vehicle. Lopez was not injured but his SUV sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
