10/30 2:20 am, a deputy was advised of a car-deer accident that occurred on Highway 30 near J Avenue and the driver continued on to the Kum & Go in Jefferson. The deputy provided the driver with an accident report to be filled out and sent to the state.
12:11 pm, a deputy and the sheriff were dispatched for a two vehicle accident that occurred at the gravel road intersection of 280th Street and I Avenue. An empty Greene County Community School District bus that was being driven by Toresa Michelle Beyers 40, of Churdan, was eastbound on 280th Street and entering the intersection with I Avenue, when she was struck by a north bound semi-tractor/grain trailer being driven by Matthew Joe Hofbauer 33, of Coon Rapids. The impact pushed the bus into the northeast corner of the intersection, with the bus landing on its driver’s side and Beyers escaping through the top escape hatch. The semi- tractor and grain trailer that is owned by Gary Fell of Bayard, and driven by Hofbauer, also entered the northeast corner of the intersection, struck a tree, before coming to rest near the school bus. No injuries were reported by either driver. The 2007 bus was estimated to be a total loss and Toresa Beyers was issued a citation for Failure to Yield to a Vehicle on the Right. Damage to the 1995 Peterbilt semi-tractor was estimated to be $15,000. Matthew Hofbauer was issued citations for No valid Commercial Driver’s License and Driving While License under Suspension.
10/31 3:33 am, a deputy assisted the Boone County Sheriff’s Office with a single vehicle accident that occurred approximately one mile into Boone county on E 18 or 130th Street. 8:10 am, a deputy assisted a Jefferson Police Officer with trying to locate a suspended driver in Jefferson.
9:48 am, a deputy was dispatched to East Main Street and 12th Street in Grand Junction for a two vehicle accident. A 2003 Pontiac Grand Am being driven by Kimber Sue Murphy 25, of Grand Junction was east bound on Main Street when she encountered a 1999 K1500 Chevrolet Silverado pickup being driven by Parker Louis Stoneburner 16, of Ogden, stopped in the roadway with no turn signal activated. Stoneburner then began to turn left into the path of Murphy. The Murphy vehicle sustained an estimated $1500 in Damages. There was little damage to the Stoneburner pickup but Parker Stonburner was issued a citation for Unsafe Turn or Failure to Give Signal.
11:00 am, a deputy was advised of an act of road rage that occurred between two male adults at the intersection of Highway 30 and N Avenue. The incident is under investigation by the Greene County Sheriff’s Office.
12:37 pm, a deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of West Hager Street in Grand Junction to investigate criminal mischief to a window.
2:25 pm, a deputy was dispatched to a reported two vehicle accident on A Avenue and 330th Street. A 2003 Toyota Tacoma that was being driven by Ralph Donald Baugher 68, of Guthrie Center, was northbound on A Avenue and had stopped at the stop sign and continued north to cross 330th street and was struck by an eastbound 2014 Ford pickup being driven by John Leo Irlbeck 55, of Audubon. No injuries were reported to either driver. Damage to the Irlbeck Ford pickup was estimated to be $14,000. Damage to the Baugher Toyota was estimated to be
$5,500 and Ralph Baugher was issued a citation for Failure to Obey a Stop Sign and Failure to Yield Right of Way at a controlled intersection.
11/1 1:32 am, a deputy spoke with a Grand Junction resident about a possible assault that occurred in the 800 block of Percival Street.
1:52 am, a deputy was asked to check the welfare of unknown persons at residence in the 300 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction after an abandoned E-911 call was initiated from that location.
3:55 am, a deputy was asked to assist with a traffic accident in Webster County. The deputy was soon advised that he could disregard that other EMS and Webster County units were on scene.
5:48 am, a deputy was asked to assist a Boone County Deputy with a possible intoxicated driver south of Rippey in Boone County.
10:31 am, a deputy was dispatched to the 1200 block of 245th Street to remove debris from the roadway.
12:32 pm, a deputy was unable to locate cattle along the roadway in the 1700 block of 170th Street.
2:57 pm, a deputy was advised that a reported accident was on the Carroll County side of A Avenue or Apple in Carroll County. The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office investigated the accident.
3:52 pm, a deputy was dispatched to the 1700 block of 170th Street for a vehicle that had struck a cow. The vehicle had left the scene, but the owner of the cow was on scene and advised the deputy the cow belonged to him.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
