It’s city election day and voters across the area are casting their ballots for mayor and city council seats.

There are no contested races in Perry as Mayor Jay Pattee seeks another two-year term, along with at-large Councilman Chuck Schott and third ward Councilwoman Barb Wolling.  Ward one Councilman Phil Stone is not seeking reelection and though there is no one on the ballot for the open seat, Dean Berklund has announced his intent to be elected via a write-in campaign.

In Adel, Mayor Jim Peters is running for reelection with no opponent.  There are however, five candidates on the ballot vying for one of three at-large council member positions.  Incumbents Michael Haynes, Shirley McAdon and Bryan Welch are being challenged by Tony Holt and Bob Ockerman.
