Everyone is invited to this week’s Greene County Historical Society program.

This month’s program will highlight the City of Scranton with special guest speaker Dawn Rudolph.  In her program, “Scranton Memories,” she will recount when her family first settled in Scranton in the late 1800’s, along with some of the City’s history from items that are on display at the local community center.

She will also talk about some of her background with horses and public office positions, including being on the Greene County Board of Supervisors, a former mayor and city council member.  Rudolph will also open the community center following the event for those interested in seeing the facility.

The free program will be at the Scranton United Methodist Church at 1pm on Friday.  A lunch will be served at noon for $8.  To reserve a meal, contact Mary Weaver at 515-360-8046 or through your community contact.  RSVPs must be made by the end of the day today.
