Greene County sophomore Haley Hall and her Boone teammates swim the 200 medley relay on Saturday in Marshalltown at the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union State Swimming & Diving Championships. Hall swims for Boone under an athletic sharing agreement. Ashley Hunter is the other Greene County student swimming for Boone. They are responsible for their own transportation to and from Boone and Hall told Raccoon Valley Radio that sleep is sometimes sacrificed as well. “If we have a morning practice I have to get up at 4:30 to go, and my parents drive me over there. Or when we share, Ashley Hunter will drive and we pay. Then, I swim in Ames also all year round, so they drive me to go there about five times a week.”
Hall said she believes her parents will be very happy when she gets her driver’s license!
The 200 medley relay is the first event Saturday at approximately 12:30 p.m. Boone enters with the 18th fastest time among the 24 qualifying teams. The Toreadors will be in Heat 1, Lane 5.
