Today is the first day of official practice for girls’ high school basketball teams in Iowa and Greene County High School begins the season with a coaching staff with experience, but with new positions. Former East Greene boys’ head coach Dean Lyons begins his first season as head coach of the girls’ program at Greene County High, and assistant Jeff Lamoureux, a former Jefferson-Scranton JV boys’ coach, starts his first season as the assistant coach for the Greene County girls.

Former head coach Chad Morton resigned the position after 14 seasons as head coach of the Rams. Morton still teaches at the high school in Jefferson, and he coaches middle school football.
