Jay and Denise Hartz have owned and managed Perry’s Hotel Pattee for just over two years now and so far, Jay says the entire experience as been rewarding.

“It’s not only personally rewarding to overcome some of the challenges we have overcome by getting the hotel back on the map but also there’s a sense of ownership in the community.  I’ve said that before, that folks are very proud of the hotel and when they have out of town guests, or friends, or family, or corporate clients coming in and they have a place where they can overnight them with confidence and also maybe come in and have a nice meal. Our community loves showing off the hotel and it’s just a gem in central Iowa and really in the United States.”

Hartz says there have been several highlights since his family moved to Perry and he feels blessed to be here and embraced by the community.
