Thursday, November 19th
A deputy was dispatched to the 400 block of South 12th Street in Grand Junction to check the welfare of a male subject reported to be sleeping in his car. The identity of the male was determined and he was asked to remove his vehicle from the Greene County Intermediate School parking lot.
The Sheriff investigated a minor two vehicle accident that occurred on Neola Avenue at the intersection with 310th Street. A 2014 Honda Odyssey being driven by Amy Ann Purdie 36, of Jefferson, was southbound on Neola Avenue, and slowing for a vehicle that was turning right onto 310th Street, when Daric Christopher Whipple 18, of Jefferson, also southbound in his 2003 Toyota 4 Runner, failed to slow for the Purdie vehicle and struck the rear of her Honda. Amy Purdie and her three children were not injured, but her Honda sustained an estimated $3000 in damages. Daric Whipple was not injured but his Toyota sustained an estimated $2000 in Damages. Charges for Whipple are pending further investigation at this time.
A deputy was dispatched to the 2400 block of V Avenue to investigate a burglary and criminal mischief to a farm building site.
A deputy was dispatched to the 2400 block of 337th Street to investigate the theft of fuel and criminal mischief to a gas line on the vehicle.
A deputy was dispatched for the report of illegal dumping along the roadway in the 1400 block of 252nd Street. The driver’s identity was determined and will be spoken to by the deputy.
A deputy was dispatched to a car-deer accident that occurred at the intersection of 195th Street and Orchard Avenue. Gerardo John Lindgren 23, of rural Jefferson was westbound on 195th Street when a deer ran onto the roadway and was struck by the Lindgren pickup. Damage to Lindgren’s 2011 Ford F-250 was estimated to be $700.
Two deputies’, Grand Junction Rescue and Greene County EMS all assisted the Iowa State Patrol with a single vehicle rollover accident that occurred in the 800 block of 11th Street in Grand Junction. A 2004 Ford Explorer being driven by Mickaylyn Marie Sanders 16, of Grand Junction lost control of her vehicle and it rolled several times as she tried to turn onto 2nd Street from 11th Street. One passenger in the vehicle was taken to the Greene County Medical Center for further evaluation.
Friday, November 20th
A deputy was advised of a possible intoxicated driver leaving Jefferson for Webster County. The car and driver were later located by a Webster County Deputy.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
