A single vehicle rollover accident results one person suffering minor injuries and vehicle damage in Greene County Thursday night.
According to the Iowa State Patrol, the crash happened at 9:04pm at the intersection of 11th and 2nd streets, near Grand Junction. A 2004 Ford Explorer was heading east on a gravel road on 11th Street and turning onto 2nd Street when the 16 year-old driver lost control and rolled the vehicle several times into the south ditch.
The female driver and one female juvenile passenger were uninjured, but another 14 year-old passenger, sustained minor injuries and was taken to the Greene County Medical Center by Greene County Emergency Medical Services. No information was available whether or not the occupants were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the accident.
The Explorer sustained disabling damages and the driver was cited for failure to maintain control.
Greene County EMS, Greene County Sheriff’s office and Grand Junction Rescue assisted at the scene.
