When asked who the standout player for the basketball team will be this year, some coaches will take a second and shout out a few names, other coaches will state a few names right out of the gate, and then there are coaches like ADM boys head basketball coach Aaron Mager. Coach Mager is a big team oriented coach who preaches team above all else.

“We talk about being more of a unit and not a whole lot with an individual mindset,” explained Coach Mager.

Coach Mager isn’t looking for just one player to have a big year, but for the entire team to have a big year. “I’d like to say all of them will have a big year and a big impact,” explained Mager.

Even though he may be focused on the team more than the individual players, coach Mager did share a few names to watch out for.

“Ross is a new guy from Waukee, Matt Larson and Payton Conrad are guys who will also get a tone of starting time, and Jacob Hardy,” Coach Mager stated. “Those four kids based on experience would be the players I’d say are primed to make a big splash,” explained Mager.

Each and every player will get their chance to shine, as a team as they take on the Pella Christian Eagles Tuesday night. Game tip off will start at 7:30 pm with pregame coverage tipping off at 7:00 pm on your home for ADM basketball, K107.9FM.
