Wednesday, November 25th
A deputy was unable to locate two vehicles that were reported to be driving erratic and carelessly on Highway 30 westbound from Grand Junction.
A deputy was advised of the illegal dumping of trash materials in the 600 block of H Avenue. No visible signs of ownership were found on the trash.
A deputy while on routine patrol checked an abandoned vehicle in the Lions Club Park, east of Junction.
A deputy assisted a Webster County Deputy with transporting a male subject to Jefferson that had experienced mechanical problems with his car in Webster County.
A deputy spoke with a Perry resident about a civil issue that transpired in Grand Junction.
Thursday, November 26th
A deputy checked a reported vehicle in the ditch on 110th Street and D Avenue. The driver advised that he was not injured and his vehicle sustained no damage. The vehicle was removed by the owner.
Fire Departments from Scranton, Jefferson, Ralston and two deputies all responded to a house fire in the 1100 block Lincoln Street in Scranton. The fire was contained to the second story with damage estimates not determined at this time.
Calhoun County dispatchers advised Greene County dispatchers of a vehicle in the ditch on Highway 4, just into Greene County. The vehicle had been removed before the deputy’s arrival.
Friday, November 27th
A deputy was dispatched to investigate a burglary and theft of property from a residence in Greene County.
A deputy was asked to check the welfare of several residents in the 200 block of Lawrence Street in Dana.
Saturday, November 28th
A deputy was dispatched to the 100 block of East Hager Street in Grand Junction to help with an out of control juvenile male.
A deputy was advised of an abandoned E-911 call that mapped to a residence in the 500 block of 5th Street in Rippey.
Sunday, November 29th
A deputy was dispatched for a reported domestic verbal altercation in the 1000 block of 200th street. Upon the deputy’s arrival, he witnessed the driver of a vehicle drive into the farm residence and exit the car. The driver then approached a female standing in the yard. After an investigation, the deputy arrested Dustin Eugene Leggitt 38, of rural Jefferson for Operating While Intoxicated – 1st Offense, a Serious Misdemeanor. The deputy was assisted by an Iowa State Patrol Officer at the scene.
A deputy was dispatched to the 1200 block of 245th Street for several dogs reported running at large. The deputy was not able to locate the pack of dogs at that time.
A deputy was asked to check an abandoned vehicle that had been reported to have been parked in front of a residence for several days in the 600 block of East Main Street in Grand Junction. The owner of the car was contacted about the situation.
A deputy was asked to speak with a resident in the 200 block of Cartwright Street in Rippey about receiving harassing letters in the mail.
Union Pacific Railroad dispatchers asked a deputy to check for a white vehicle that was parked on the railroad right-of-way, and close to the tracks. The described vehicle was not located upon the deputy’s arrival.
In all cases when a defendant has been charged, this is merely an accusation, and all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
