Greene County and Perry square off in high school boys’ basketball season opening action tomorrow night in the middle school gym in Jefferson. The two girls’ teams play at 6 p.m. followed by the boys. Ram head coach Jeramie Hinote begins his third season at the helm with an experienced squad led by junior Trey Tucker, who has 909 career points in two seasons and returns as one of Class 3A’s top scoring threats. Perry also has experience led by senior guard Shammond Ivory, a career 1,000-plus point scorer, also one of 3A’s leading scorers from last season.

Coach Hinote said he expects the pace to be quick. “These are two teams that have some good guards out there and we both like to push the ball up the floor. We kind of attack things differently once we get there, but as far as that goes, but there wouldn’t be a shot clock issue for sure in this basketball game.”

Both ends of the doubleheader Tuesday night can be heard on KG98, KDLS 1310 AM, the new 99.7 FM, and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com.
