Greene County 4-H’ers that are interested in showing beef at next year’s county fair are encouraged to attend the first beef project meeting this weekend.
Greene County Extension Director Lori Mannel says the meeting will be at 4pm on Sunday at the Extension office in Jefferson. At the meeting, 4-H’ers and their parents will learn about new beef classes for the 2016 county fair from beef pen-of-three, bucket calf and beef superintendents. Pizza will be served at 5:30pm.
4-H’ers are required to go to at least one beef project meeting in order to show at the county fair. Other meetings will take place in March and May with one more possibly before the fair in July.
Beef weigh-ins will also take place on Sunday, December 13th at 1pm at the fairgrounds in Jefferson.
Contact the Extension office at 386-2138 with any questions or for more information.
