The State Auditor’s office has completed an audit of the South Dallas County Landfill Agency.

According to the report, revenues for the 2015 fiscal year totaled $1,748,217, which is a 47.3 percent increase over the year before.  This includes landfill gate receipts of $1.5 million and a member assessment of $15,900.  The Auditor says the significant increase is due primarily to additional tonnage collected.

Expenses for the year totaled $693,101, a 36.9 percent decrease over the prior year.  This includes $202,00 for salaries and benefits, nearly $71,000 for the solid waste contract and $59,000 for fuel.  The decrease is attributed to a decrease in capital outlay for the purchase of equipment.
