Carroll High and Winterset easily won high school wrestling dual meets vs. Greene County in Winterset on Thursday night. For the second night during this opening week of the season the Rams had just four varsity wrestlers with 10 open weights.Carroll was a 57-12 winner over the Rams and the Huskies won 69-6. WInterset beat Carroll 45-27 in the other dual meet. Head coach Mark Sawhill indicated two-time State meet qualifier Tommy Bradshaw is scheduled to join the lineup next week.
Sophomore Kane Borgeson was the lone Ram to win a match on the mat Thursday. He went 2-0 with a pair of falls and the 113 lb. wrestler needed just :39 and :31 seconds on the mat. Borgeson was making his season debut.
Isaac Ireland (138) won by forfeit vs. the Tigers and lost by fall against Winterset. Isaiah Yoder (160) and Hunter Ruth (195) both were 0-2 on the night with each suffering a loss by fall and a loss by decision.
