The state Auditor’s office has completed an audit on the City of Adel.
According to the report, the City’s revenues totaled $6,088,035 for the fiscal year that ended June 30th. That’s a 13.8 percent increase over the prior year and includes $2.2 million from charges for service, $1.7 million in property tax, $736,000 in operating grants, contributions and restricted interest, $535,000 from tax increment financing, $441,000 from local option sales tax, $435,000 from note proceeds and $3,700 from unrestricted interest on investments.
Expenses totaled $6,491,437, a 14.2 percent decrease over the year before. This includes $1.7 million for business type activities, $1.4 million for capital projects, $953,000 for public safety, and $914,000 for debt service.
