Each community has a group of people that goes above and beyond the call of duty to help make where they live or work a better place, but sometimes it’s the little things that we can all do that will make a difference.
Mayor Jay Pattee says it all comes down to taking pride.
“If you pay attention to your house, if you put a fresh coat of paint on it, if you mow your lawn, you’re doing great things for Perry.”
And Pattee says that’s not just a message for property owners.
“So much of it gets put back on landlords. They need to do this and they need to do that, but it’s the tenant that lives in the house and really the tenant has some responsibility of the day-to-day care of that property. It’s where they live. My question is don’t you want to live in a nice place and what can you do to make it better?”
You can hear more of Mayor Pattee’s take on how we can all make a difference in the community on today’s Let’s Talk Dallas County during the 9am, noon and 5pm hours.
