There’s lots to do at the Jefferson Public Library for the rest of December.
Children’s Librarian Terry Clark says December’s theme is “Some Books Are Worth Melting For” and it coincides with the popular movie Frozen. Kids can check out all of the decorations with a fireplace and Christmas tree and they can build an igloo with boxes that are made up to look like ice cubes.
There are daily come-and-go crafts and if kids find where Sven is hiding, they can be entered into a drawing for prizes. Plus, every Wednesday this month is a new movie at 2pm in the basement of the library. Clark talks about how great the free movies are when school dismisses early.
“It’s a great activity for kids after school. And we have popcorn and pop for the kids while they watch their movie. Some of the kids even sit and do homework while they watch the movies. And so it’s just a nice place for them to come after school and spend some time.”
Due to a special event tomorrow, there will not be a movie. December 16th’s movie is Frozen, December 23rd is A Flintstones Christmas Carol and December 30th is Secret of the Wings.
All winter activities in the children’s department is free and open to the public.
