The Greene County Board of Supervisors met yesterday in regular session.
The Board approved a letter of support for a grant to obtain 50 radon kits through the Iowa Cancer Consortium.
The Board also approved several other items including an assignment of certificate of purchase for a tax sale property, a Class C native wine permit for Deal’s Orchard and the recorder’s report of fees of $6,286.32 for November.
The Board heard an update and funding request for the 2017 fiscal year from RSVP 55+ organization. No formal action was taken on the $3,000 funding request.
Finally, County Engineer Wade Weiss gave an update to the Supervisors. He said he will go ahead with doing a study to make sure the current Mahanay Bell Tower structure would support the added weight of a full carillon bell system in the future. He then discussed stockpiling tires for the secondary roads department and the savings for the County.
