The Jefferson City Council met for the final time of the year Tuesday night.

The Council appointed Makenzy Parkis to the volunteer fire department, a funding resolution of $5,000 to the Bell Tower Community Foundation for their Community Attraction and Tourism grant and the five-year capital improvement plan for the airport with matching funds from the airport commission.

The Council also approved matching funds for the Community Development Block Grant owner/occupied rehabilitation program of $2,500 per project for a maximum of six projects. The Council approved an adjustment to the building permit for Wild Rose of $5,000 for the City’s work to prepare the site.

Mayor Pro Tem Shannon Black was recognized for her eight years of service to the Council. She is stepping down, because she will no longer live within the City limits to continue to be on the Council. Dave Sloan is expected to be sworn in at the first council meeting in January.

Finally, the Council waived their regular meeting on December 22nd.
