perry logoNext year will be a busy one in the City of Perry in terms of construction projects.

With several projects going out for bid next month and a few already being set to start in 2016, City Engineer Matt Ferrier says there will be a lot going on.

“It’s actually going to be a very busy summer in Perry.  It’s not common that we actually have this many projects going on at once but we did have several projects that lined up really well with the state and with the federal government.  Those are opportunities we really want to take advantage of, when they can come in and fund 80 percent of a project for us.”

Some of the projects include replacement of the Willis Avenue bridge, reconstruction of the Highway 144, or 1st Street, and Willis Avenue intersection, the North Street extension project between 16th and 18th Streets and hot mix asphalt resurfacing.

Ferrier says they will be working with the Department of Transportation and contractors to make sure the projects are done efficiently and cause the least amount of disruption to traffic possible.
