Greene County is at home tonight in the middle school gym in Jefferson hosting Nevada in a Heart of Iowa Activities Conference girl/boy basketball doubleheader. It’s a rare Thursday night of varsity hoops. The Greene County teams will have Friday night off, and won’t play again until Tuesday, Dec. 15 at Gilbert.
Nevada’s girls won the Class 3A State title in 2015 and are rated number one this season. The Cubs are 4-1 overall and 3-0 in the HOIAC with the lone loss to non-conference Class 5A Ankeny Centennial. Greene County’s girls are 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the conference.
On the boys’ side, the Cubs are 2-1 overall and in the conference while the Rams are 1-2 overall and 1-1 in the league.
The Greene County girls are playing at home for the fourth time in five games while the boys are playing their third home contest in four outings.
