There’s high school basketball tonight on KG98 and www.raccoonvalleyradio.com when the Greene County teams visit Gilbert. Coverage starts at 5:45 p.m. with the girls playing at 6 p.m. and the boys to follow.

Greene County is 2-3 in girls’ hoops and 2-2 in the Heart of Iowa Activities Conference. The Gilbert girls are 5-3 overall, but 5-0 in the HOIAC. Their losses are to Class 4A number one ranked Ballard (Huxley) and to a pair of MN teams. The Rams are coming off a one-sided loss to Class 3A number one ranked and 2015 State Champion Nevada.

The Gilbert boys are 3-1 overall and in the conference. The teams have one common opponent. The Tigers defeated South Hamilton in Gilbert last Friday while the Rams lost in Jewell on Dec. 8. The Rams are 1-3 overall and 1-2 in league play and are coming off their worst loss of the season, 64-47 in Jefferson to Nevada on Dec. 10.
